landscape design and construction for MARFIN BANK corporate building , Athens .

The office complex is made by two identical buildings , linked by a high-tech steel shade at their tops .

The top of the garage structure was transformed to a large green roof.

Strong winds , air pollution , shallow soil over structure , were of major concern .

A selection of Greek native plants tolerant to site conditions gave a special mediterranean look to the gardens .

A strong spatial axis is formed , reinforced by the landscape elements ( water fountains , seatwalls , planters ).

Gradually the axis dissolves to a free flow of pathways , planting and landforms , shaping walks and resting places.
